Bierdurst
Note: Don'tbe put off by stutters during the first level, after everything is loaded for the first time runs smooth.
TRIGGER WARNING:
This game contains excessive abuse of alcohol, vulgar noises as well as mildly explicit
content in the form of low-res wallpapers.
You are experiencing increasing Bierdurst*, but walking is not an option. Good thing
you can use your trusted drone to fetch a beer. If only your keyboards keys weren't so
unstable and your room a little more tidy.
*Bierdurst (German): the urge to drink a beer
Tipp: You have three POVs, use them. ;)
Controls:
Mouse: look around
WASD: move drone
TAB: toggle camera
R: reset level
M: open audio menu
This game offers:
- 8 handcrafted levels with increasing difficulty
- many different sound effects recorded by ourselves
- numerous amateurishly modelled and textured objects
- different LIVE radio stations to listen to and switch between:
- Nightwave Plaza
- a random Country music station
- a random metal music station (we haven not encountered actual metal yet)
- a random classic station
Jam Challenges:
This game is an entry to "One Game A Week Jam 3", which uses different challenges.
We loosely followed three of the challenge elements, Genre, Theme and Ingredient.
- Engine: Since we strive to improve our Godot proficiency and wanted to create a
game in 3D, we decided against the use of TIC-80.
- Genre (Ressource Management): More of a puzzle game, but the ressource you have
to manage is a finite number of keystrokes of your movement keys, and thus finite
movement.
- Theme (Unstable Key): You keyboard keys are unstable and will blow up after too
much use, blocking this direction of movement.
- Wildcard (A Score the Player cannot see): The hidden stat that is being tracked over
your playthrough is revealed after finishing the game
- Ingredient (A borrowed Object): Well, we borrowed some images from the internet
to populate our rooms walls. Alterntatively we thought about borrowing the
companion cube from the Portal Games.
Almost all sound effects, 3D models and code was created by ourselves inside the
timeframe without the use of generative AI, except:
- the Wallpapers are images found online , put pixelated (links below, we hope thats
alright for a small jam project that might be seen by 50 people max)
- the sound effects for the fan and the explosion (we had neither a fan
nor explosives on hand)
- the Code for embedding the radio stations was created with the help of Claude
Sonnet 4.6, since we had this idea only Saturday and time was tight
- the code for the flickering of the ceiling light was reused from a previous project
- the model creation for our protagonist used Rainer Winkler aka "Drachenlord" as
inspiration
